Big Important Video Quality Improvements Ready For Football’s Return!
We’ve got some exciting news! Our current users will be extremely happy to hear that we have made some big improvements to the video quality. Gone are the transparent-ball days and hello new colour corrections, this is a change that will not only satisfy our existing users but potential clients too. It is a big step that will help us to climb to the top sports analysis software table.
No more transparent-ball
When capturing the whole field in one view, you have to be careful not to lose the small details if you want to provide the highest quality video. In a football match, one of those small visual details is the main focus of the game — the ball. Some of our users had been experiencing issues with this where the outline of the ball was glitchy (we called this the comet-ball back here in the Bepro offices), or it was hard to see the ball completely as it moved across the field. This was a high priority case for us to solve and now we’re pleased to say that this is now behind us! The ball is now clear, detailed, and with video stitching time much faster, the overall moving aspects (ball and players) and image are so much smoother. So when the football world resumes, we’re looking forward to seeing it in action.
New colour corrections!
Realism is an essential part of providing the best quality image for football games, and colours are a key part in making the image as true to the real-life view as possible. When stitching multiple cameras together, each camera can occur different lighting or other contrasts, but it is important to make them all match in the final stitched footage. We’ve been testing and tweaking solutions to improve the colours of our videos, and we’ve managed to achieve this! From now on, there’ll be no more harsh colours that resemble a Fifa game and instead, it will be a visual that tells nothing but the truth and is exactly what you would see from the stands.
